FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — Austin Ekeler’s best decision last Sunday might have come off the field. The Los Angeles Chargers running back — an avid fan of fantasy football — plugged a productive playmaker into one of his lineups.Himself. “When you have yourself in fantasy, you never don’t start yourself,” Ekeler said with a big smile. “I always start myself in fantasy if I have myself.”Good call.Ekeler had 123 yards from scrimmage, including seven receptions for 94 yards, in the Chargers’ 30-13 rout of the Chicago Bears. “Probably a pretty good day,” he said of the fantasy implications. No doubt. And after missing three games with a high ankle sprain, the star running back is rounding back into his dynamic form.“It starts with their running game,” said New York Jets defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, whose unit will be tasked with defending Ekeler on Monday night. “I know that sounds funny because when you talk about the Chargers, you talk about Justin Herbert, you talk ab...

Premiers to focus on energy costs, health care at Halifax meeting of 13 leaders

The effect of carbon pricing measures on the rising cost of living across Canada is slated to take centre stage at this week’s meeting of the country’s 13 premiers and territorial leaders in Halifax. That focus comes after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced last month a three-year pause on carbon pricing for home fuel oil, along with the expansion of a grant program to help some lower-income Canadians cover the cost of installing heat pumps. The relief is applicable only to the 10 jurisdictions where federal fuel charges apply, with British Columbia, Quebec and the Northwest Territories excluded because they collect their own fuel tax.Speaking from Halifax ahead of the meetings, British Columbia Premier David Eby said such unequal distribution of cost relief is unfair.“I don’t begrudge Atlantic Canadians the ability to get off home heating oil and not to have to endure those huge bills that come when the fuel truck shows up,” Eby said at a news confe...

According to Insurance Journal, 30% of all automotive insurance claims are windshield-related. Approximately 14 million windshields are replaced in America each year. Drive long enough, and you will suffer a broken, pitted, or cracked windshield. What Causes a Windshield To Need Replacement?Windshields don’t have a lifespan. They can last indefinitely unless something cracks or breaks them. Most windshield damage is caused by road debris, including small stones or other objects impacting the glass. These objects can fall from a vehicle ahead, or they can be kicked up by the tires of vehicles in front of you. At highway speeds, a small stone can crack or pit a windshield easily.Because damaged or cracked windshields are common, even in new or near-new vehicles, many owners feel there must have been a defect, or that the automaker opted to use poor quality glass. Based on...
