SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Pieces of glass have fallen off a San Francisco high-rise located at 50 California, KRON4 has learned. The glass pieces fell on the Sacramento Street side of the building. Another storm hits Bay Area: Highway 17 reopens in both directions Sacramento Street and Davis Street are currently blocked off. The San Francisco Fire Department is on the scene. The glass was first described as spandrel glass by the building's owner. However later reports confirmed the glass as having come from a blown-out window.Clay and California are also closed due to the falling window glass. Winds downtown are extremely intense with people struggling to walk against them. (AP) — A South Florida deputy accused of using a Taser stun gun on a man and taking his cell phone while the man was trying to video-record a family member’s arrest was booked Tuesday on misdemeanor charges.Broward County Deputy Carlos Ferrufino, 34, turned himself in Tuesday morning at the county’s main jail, a sheriff’s office news release said. He faces two counts of misdemeanor battery, one count of tampering with evidence and one count of petit theft. ATLANTA (AP) — Josh Williams was given a one-race suspension on Tuesday as punishment for parking his car at the start-finish line at Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.Williams accepted his punishment but said he doesn’t regret his actions which led to the penalty. He will miss this Saturday’s Xfinity race at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. DENVER (AP) — Colorado Avalanche coach Jared Bednar has signed a three-year extension that will keep him in charge of the reigning Stanley Cup champions through the 2026-27 season.The new deal for the winningest head coach in club history kicks in once the current contract runs out after the 2023-24 season. Shots rang out in Hallandale Beach, striking at least one person, police said, and now they are looking for the shooter or shooters they said fled the scene. Police arrived to the scene, in the area of South Dixie Highway, north of the county line, around 4 p.m., Tuesday. A neighbor said he heard four shots.“I just heard two shots, and then after a couple of seconds I heard two more, and then I heard nothing,” a man said, “and then I heard the helicopters, and that’s it.”“I saw a cop chasing a car,” said a woman. “I thought it was just a speeding person because people speed around all the time, but apparently it’s something more than that.”According to early reports, multiple people were shot in the area, but Hallandale Beach said they have only made contact with one person who was shot and they drove themselves to Aventura Hospital.They did, however, issue an alert to hospitals to be on the lookout for any gunshot victims ...Latest news
