ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma has to do with car trips and music. Here's the email: Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! Hi Jaime. My family (Me, my wife, and our two kids) are taking a trip to the Jersey Shore for Memorial Day Weekend. From here, it's about a four-hour trip with no traffic. It will probably end up being more like five or six hours with traffic. Anyway, I'm a big believer that whoever is driving the car gets control of the radio and the music. That doesn't mean that sometimes I don't give up that power to the kids or that my wife doesn't steal the power from me. But for this trip, I want to listen to the music we can all agree on: the music TRY plays. Classic hits…Elton, Rod, Pat. But my kids think I should turn the radio over to them for two hours of the ride so they can listen to music from people like Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd. No disrespect to them, but I don't wan...Family of 10 survives terrifying house fire

ST. LOUIS -- A family of 10 survives a fire in the early morning hours. The house that sits on Marilyn Lane is just off Route 157. Fortunately, everyone survived, including all the children. This family is certain to be shaken by the scary experience. Fire crews got the call here about twelve forty-five this morning. This fire is quickly growing to two alarms, with crews from five different departments in the metro east area responding to this scene. A family member said he was here when the fire started, along with his girlfriend and the eight children, who ranged in age from just two months old to 14 years old. The man says his girlfriend is the mother of all the kids. He is the father of three of them. He says most of the family members were spending the night outside in a tent. When the fire started, many of the people were already outside. Authorities tell me at this point that they believe that the fire was an accidental kitchen fire that started on the stove. Even though...St. Louis man to be sentenced for murder

ST. LOUIS -- Thursday was a great day, and Friday will be the same. Mid- to upper-70s again, with sunshine and low humidity. The whole Memorial Day weekend looks great, to be honest.Every day, the temperature will go up by a few degrees, but the humidity will stay low. This whole weekend and the next week look dry. Monday will be a great day for sports, grilling, swimming, boating, and remembering. We could use some good rain because the drought is getting worse in the middle and northeastern parts of Missouri, but it won't come for a while.Ask Amy: Boundary-building feels like control

Dear Amy: When do boundaries become a form of controlling?Last summer, my sister’s husband died by suicide. At her request, my parents and I helped with huge tasks through the blurry first weeks. Then, gradually, she reduced contact with us.Calls and texting were fine, and typical boundaries seemed to be respected. Then last week my sister mailed my parents a letter, saying that they could only use postal mail to contact her. (They had been sending short emails and texts of generic updates.)My parents are in their 80s and at a loss. She seems to be blaming our parents for everything, but with communication so prescribed there doesn’t seem to be a way to move forward. She also stopped responding to me, and I am hurt but feel like I can wait this out.I sent a birthday card and some bland notes to her.I did tell my mom that at least she didn’t cut off all communication, so that’s good.My sister also communicates with my older son (who lives in another country), whi...Germany to buy Leopard tanks, howitzers to make up for Ukraine shortfall

Published Thu, 14 Nov 2024 10:01:50 GMT
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is a populist and is prone to taking contradictory stances. He is wrong when he says Armenia would not benefit from Russia’s military defeat in Ukraine. This is why, writes Taras Kuzio.Pashinyan recently warned Armenians that, ‘If Russia loses the war in Ukraine, I have no idea what will happen to Armenia.’ Pashinyan’s comment has placed Armenia together with China, Belarus, and Iran who have strategic reasons to fear a Russian military defeat in Ukraine. Together with five Central Asian dictators, Pashinyan attended the May 9 celebrations of the great patriotic war in Moscow.Armenia has nothing in common with these five dictatorships and three autocracies. China and Iran seek to prevent Russia’s military defeat because this would destroy their shared goal of replacing the alleged US-led unipolar with a multipolar world. Belarus and Iran fear Russia’s military defeat because it could lead to regime change. Russia’s military defeat would also put paid t...Three-bedroom home sells in Los Gatos for $2.8 million
